He's Here!!

Hi Everyone

We are happy to report that our little man is here!  Koa Augustine Stokes arrived at 12:47pm on Saturday, October 27, 2012.  He weighed 8lbs, was 20.5" long, and perfect in every way!  Mommy was in labor for about 18 hours and pushed for a quick 15 minutes to bring our precious boy into the world!  It is amazing how you can love a little person so much so fast...he is such a good little boy and has brought so much happiness to us every day (except when he is waking us up in the middle of the night)!!

We had Koa's 1 month check up last week and he is doing so well...9lbs 9oz, 21.75" long, and healthy as can be!

We will work on keeping this updated more often, but for now here are some pictures of Koa over the last month...

39 Weeks

Hi everyone!

Well we are only a few days away from our due date and could not be more excited!  We cannot wait for our little man to be here and are getting more and more anxious for him to make his arrival as each day passes.  We cannot wait to see what he looks like and learn his little personality!  At the doctor on Thursday things were starting to progress, dilated 1 cm and 40% effaced...so we are at least starting to move in the right direction!  Kelley's last day of work was Friday so now we are just in waiting mode.  Hopefully we will be updating with pictures of our little guy in no time!

37 Weeks

Hello,

It has been a little while since the last post...Sorry!  Everything here is great!  Mommy and Nugget are both doing great, getting all A's at our doctor appointments!  The braxton hicks contractions have kicked into high gear the last week or so...something is happening in there, so that is good!  We have another appointment on Thursday, they will do a cervical check to see if anything is changing...fingers crossed!  We cannot believe that it will only be a couple more weeks until we meet our little man...we could not be more excited!!  Here is the latest picture...

34 Weeks

Hi All,

Everything here is great and moving right along...little man is growing away!  Mommy and Daddy have his room all set up and ready for his arrival.  We have a doctor's appointment tomorrow to see how our little man is doing, so fingers crossed that it will be uneventful and we will get a gold star!  Here is the bump for this week...

32 Weeks

Hi All!

We had a doctor's appointment this afternoon with an ultrasound and it all went great (other than Nugget was a bit camera shy and wouldn't come out to let us get a very long look, or picture, of his little face)!  We did get a few good glances while we were there, sorry none to share, but we can tell you that he looks a whole lot like his daddy!!

He is in the 52nd percentile for size, weighs about 4.5lbs, has a larger than average head, steady heart rate of 155bpm, he's still a boy, is head down and looks perfect!  They are expecting him to be in the high 7s-low 8s for birth weight and healthy as an ox! 

Mommy is great too, belly measuring perfectly, perfect blood pressure, and feeling good overall!

We cannot wait to meet our little man and cannot believe he will be here next month!!  Here are the pictures we got, we should have another ultrasound around 37-38 weeks so maybe he will pose for that one...we will see!  For now, enjoy these little pics...

31 Weeks

Hi Everyone!

Here is the Nugget belly this week!  He is growing and moving and Mommy and Daddy are having a great time talking to him and planning his arrival...we cannot wait to meet our little man!  We set up his crib and Daddy refinished a dresser for him (it looks amazing), things are really starting to come together!  We had an amazing baby shower a couple weeks ago and really appreciate the great gifts we got.  We think we also have settled on a name (sorry we are keeping it a secret from everyone until he gets here)!  We have another ultrasound next Wednesday, September 5th, so make sure you check in to see the most recent photos of the little guy! 

28 Weeks

Hi Everyone! 

Sorry it has been SO long, we have been super busy and sort of forgot to update this.  Our little Nugget keeps on growing and moving non-stop (we think a little athlete)!  We are having a great time poking him and watching him move all over and kick us back.  Daddy likes putting his face on the belly so Nugget kicks or punches him...it is pretty entertaining!

Everything else has been going well.  The heat this summer has been brutal, many days/weeks in the 90s and 100s so Mommy has had no choice but to stay confined to air conditioned areas.  It is putting a bit of a damper on the summer, but when it's that hot who wants to be outside anyway? 

We are pretty well moved into the house, still doing projects (as you can see in the picture the cabinets have no doors right now while we are refinishing them).  We love our new place and cannot wait for it to be all finished so we can sit back, relax, and enjoy our little family!  Kaya got her new memory foam doggy bed, so she is a happy camper.  She is also working on making friends with the dog next door and loves her new back yard. 

We cannot wait to see a lot of you in Cincinnati this weekend for Lara and Joel's wedding!!
